Things are starting to look a little bit brighter in the UK now! Not only has the sun finally emerged from behind the winter clouds, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the COVID lockdown too! The schools are set to reopen over March 8th, and there'll be a slight easing of the social distancing restrictions to allow people to meet with their friends outside. At the end of March, we're expecting to see a further relaxation, with more meet-ups allowed and outdoor sports starting again.
But these regulations will likely still mean that bouncy castles and hot tubs can only be used by small 'bubbles' such as individual households. But in April 12th, we'll see zoos, theme parks and restaurants re-open - although restaurants look set to only be allowed to serve people outdoors. Boris Johnson's not said anything about bouncy castles, however, so the rules and regulations around inflatable and party hire will need some further clarification.

Indoor gatherings are scheduled to return on May 17th, when we should be allowed to eat indoors in restaurants again, and when indoor play areas such as children's soft play centres will return. There'll also be the potential for large indoor events involving up to 1,000 attendees, and up to 30 people can meet outdoors - so we'd definitely hope that our bouncy castles, inflatable games and hot tubs will be seeing regular use again.
The true (provisional) end of lockdown date will be on the 21st June - or potentially later, depending on how the next few months looks.
